Patience: Making Space for Grace

Oct 5, 2025    Ian Duff

Patience doesn’t come naturally; it must be cultivated. In this week’s message, Ian helped us see that biblical patience is more than waiting without frustration; it’s forbearance — “long-tempered” love that holds back anger and gives space for grace.

Through Scripture and the example of Jesus restoring Peter, we learned that patience is not a self-help skill but a fruit of the Spirit that reflects God’s heart. It grows in us through the Spirit’s work, through trials, through relationships, and through reflection on God’s patience toward us.

Patience isn’t just about waiting better — it’s about loving better, revealing the character of Christ in our daily lives. Each moment that tests our patience is an opportunity for the Spirit to grow love, endurance, and grace within us.
