Episode 3: Flood
This week's message in The Greatest Story: Origins explored the account of Noah, the Flood, and God's covenant in Genesis 6–9. As human wickedness spread across the earth, God's heart was grieved by the destruction sin brings. Yet even in the midst of judgment, God provided mercy through Noah, offering a way of rescue and preservation.
We saw how the ark points forward to Jesus Christ—the refuge God has provided for a broken world. Just as God brought Noah safely through the waters, Christ brings His people through sin and death into new life. The flood story is not merely about judgment; it is about God's faithfulness to save, restore, and begin again.
The sermon concluded with God's covenant symbolized by the rainbow, a promise that ultimately points beyond Noah to the greater covenant established through Jesus. The Flood reminds us that God grieves over sin, provides a way of salvation, and remains committed to His people. Through Christ, the true Ark, God is still making all things new.
