Lost and Unaware

In Jesus' story, the father is the only one bursting with joy. The older brother's heart was hard and self-centered; he despised not only his lost-and-found brother, but the father who welcomed him home. The older brother is Jesus' warning to us: God welcomes people unconditionally, and if we don't join the party we may actually be the ones who are lost!
