The Rejected Redeemer

Jesus comes back to his hometown and reads a scripture of good news for the poor and oppressed. He claims that it is fulfilled in him, and his hearers love this proclamation...until they realize it is also good news for their enemies. Their disappointment turns to outrage, and they run Jesus out of the synagogue in an attempt to take his life, but Jesus walks away and continues on his mission, rooted in his love for all people.

When we learn the gospel is for "outsiders," do we reject the Redeemer or embrace his grace?
