The Roadblock of Pride

Whether it is demonstrated in arrogance or self-loathing, pride is a deadly adversary. The disciples felt its sting when they argued among themselves about who would be the greatest, but Jesus corrected that way of thinking. Pride stands in the way of our discipleship because Jesus embodied gospel-humility. He called his followers then - and calls us now! - to embrace self-forgetfulness for the sake of the kingdom and our neighbors.
