God Moves... to Empty Us Out

John's gospel tells us the incredible story of Mary and the shocking act of worship she offered to Jesus... and it is also our story. Following Jesus might lead us to do things that seem impractical and silly. And, although it would turn out to be the greatest act of love and service ever, Jesus gave his own life in what seemed to be a foolish waste. But we are saved because Jesus emptied himself out on the cross, and his Spirit moves to empty us out, too, in abundant (costly!) worship, love, and service.
