Jesus Is the Greatest High Priest

Hebrews reveals that Jesus is the greatest high priest for his people. In the Old Testament, the high priest was appointed by God to "stand in the gap" for the nation of Israel, offering the sacrifice that brought reconciliation. In a greater way, Jesus was appointed by the Father to offer himself as a reconciling sacrifice, and to intercede for those who believe in him!
