Because He Lives...We Are Witnesses
Because Jesus is alive, everything about how we live in this world changes. In this message from 1 Peter 2:11–17, we’re reminded that followers of Jesus are “foreigners and exiles”—citizens of Heaven living on mission here and now. The resurrection has given us a new identity, a new allegiance, and a new purpose: to represent Christ well wherever He has placed us.
Peter challenges believers to remember that our hope is not rooted in the shifting powers of this world, but in the risen King and His unshakable Kingdom. That heavenly citizenship shapes how we live, calling us to resist sinful desires, fight the inward battle for holiness, and live lives of beautiful witness before others.
In a world marked by outrage, division, and constant noise, Christians are called to something different: radical honor, sacrificial love, and steady faithfulness. Our witness is often strongest not when we are loudest, but when our lives reflect the peace, grace, and beauty of Jesus.
Because He lives, we don’t just believe differently; we live differently. We are ambassadors of Heaven, sent into our homes, workplaces, and community to reflect the character of our King and point others to the hope of the resurrection.
