A Re-Born Identity

Baptism has a lot of significance for followers of Jesus... but why? It started in the New Testament with John as a symbol of repentance. But even John admitted it didn't really take care of our deeper issue - we need more than an outward washing. The good news is that, in his baptism, Jesus compassionately identified with all of broken humanity! And he baptizes us with his Spirit, who begins re-creating us from the inside out!
