Jesus Meets Us In Our Blindness
This week in our Where We Are series, we looked at John 9 and the story of the man born blind. While others wanted to blame someone for his condition, Jesus met him with compassion and declared, “I am the light of the world.” The man’s healing came through a step of obedience before he could see, reminding us that faith often means trusting Jesus before we understand what He is doing.
As the story unfolds, the religious leaders remain confident they can see, but their certainty keeps them from recognizing God at work. Meanwhile, the healed man grows in faith step by step, holding onto the simple truth: “I was blind, and now I can see.” After he is rejected by others, Jesus comes looking for him, showing that He never leaves those who follow Him.
Bottom line: Jesus meets us in our blindness not to leave us there, but to change the way we see and lead us into life with Him.
