Episode 5: David
What does it mean to be a person after God’s own heart? David’s story is filled with incredible victories, deep trust in God, and devastating failure. Yet through it all, David learned to recognize God as the true King—trusting in God’s power, God’s plan, and ultimately God’s ability to transform his heart.
When David’s sin was exposed, he responded with humility and repentance, praying, “Create in me a pure heart, O God.” His story reminds us that being a person after God’s heart doesn’t mean being perfect; it means recognizing our need for God, repenting when we wander, and returning to his rule.
Ultimately, David’s story points beyond himself to Jesus—the promised eternal King who calls us to repent and makes the cleansing and transformation of our hearts possible.
